A Story of Two Wolves
An elder explained to a child, "A fight is going on inside of me. It is a grueling battle between two powerful wolves. One wolf is agitated, angry, frustrated, fearful, rigid, self-pitying and full of false pride." The elder continued, “The other is calm, alert, tensionless, adaptable, courageous, loving, and confident. The same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person too.” The child pondered for a moment and then asked the elder, “Which wolf will win?” The elder softly replied, “The one you feed."
